Since BACD was formed in 1969 membership has grown
to encompass all the leading conference destinations in
the British Isles, which between them, represent in the
region of 3,000 venues, and also includes the national
tourist boards.

BACD attends a range of exhibitions, either managing a pavilion of members’ stands or providing the opportunity for members to stand share cost effectively. We also host our own British Destinations Showcase an annual workshop in London.

Inclusion in our annual publication detailing narrative, pictoral, statistical summary of the facilities and attractions of each member destination.

An excellent marketing tool for members, listed for clients comprehensively by name, region and nearest towns. The site also includes member only services for inter-member communication, downloads of important industry information, access to update destination pages, events, and much more.
Extensive industry and business PR
 
BACD enjoys excellent relationships with the trade media and business publications. BACD engages specialist PR agency, Fridays Group to assist with the media relations and provides members with a data-bank of articles and press contacts to enhance their own PR function.

A continuing programme of short courses and events allowing members and non-members to gain new skills and ideas and exchange information

Research, information and consultancy
 
BACD provides members with up-to-date advice and information on all aspects of the conference and events industry. BACD also publishes an annual survey, the British Conference Venues Survey - a major industry research piece.

On behalf of members BACD is actively involved with several other leading industry associations. Forming strategic alliances with like minded bodies to ensure representation of members within the national and international forums BACD helps form a unified voice for the industry in discussions with Govt agencies and other business sectors.
